More Common in Public Hospitals:Delays in Lung Cancer Care

The United States, a new study found that patients need to wait for diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, the length of time by a number of health-care system factors.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center researchers for analysis and diagnosis of 482 cases of non-small cell lung cancer data.

 

They found that factors such as hospitals (private or public), insurance, age and race has its own time and the diagnosis of lung cancer patients receiving treatment to take a major impact.

For example, 59 percent of patients in public hospitals in the treatment of advanced (phase III) lung cancer patients, while 37 percent of patients in a private hospital for treatment. The researchers also found significant differences in patient populations.
